AN ATOMIC PROJECT! - Comic book commissioned by the University of Coimbra (P)
Roberto is a young researcher, PhD student at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He deals with scientific dissemination, a kind of new Piero Angela, with a passion for physics and in particular for the history of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.
Today we all know what it is: a somewhat noisy machine that allows us to make very precise diagnoses, literally scanning our body and internal organs.
But the physical principles on which the functioning of the resonance machine is based ... well, few know them. For this Roberto has decided to entrust the explanation of complex physical theories to an immediate and simple medium such as comics.
Roberto retraced the stages of knowledge that have taken place in over 150 years of history until the discovery of the magnetic resonance phenomenon by the physicist Isidor Isac Rabi, Nobel Prize for physics in 1944.
He did it in a simple and clear way, using a language that most people understand. We did the rest and to make everything even more usable we decided to entrust the narration to a 10-year-old child, who travels through time and space to discover the secrets of atomic physics with the reader.
It was a long and complex job, but thanks to Roberto's great competence, his immense availability and the skill of our designer we were able to complete the work, which will become an editorial product in all respects. In fact, the project envisages the publication of the comic and its dissemination for educational purposes both in Portugal and in Italy.
